This one is a fan game, so it helps to know what it is based on. Cuphead, released by Studio MDHR in 2017, is a run-and-gun built almost entirely from boss fights and drawn to look like a 1930s cartoon. One of its bosses is Wally Warbles, a cuckoo-clock bird fought in the level called "Aviary Action!" on Inkwell Isle Two, where Cuphead flies a tiny plane through eggs, feathers and a nest of hatchlings.

PizzaGut recreated that single fight in Scratch, MIT's block-based programming tool, and shared it on Scratch in October 2017. The project has passed a million views there. It is one boss, not the whole game: you pick Simple, Regular or Expert and fly against Wally Warbles through his phases, shooting, shrinking to dodge, parrying pink objects and spending cards on EX attacks. The music is the original Aviary Action track.

How to play Cuphead Boss Fight: Wally Warbles (fan game)

  1. Press Play. The game opens in TurboWarp in a new tab; the hollowknight.io copy is there if TurboWarp is blocked.
  2. Click the green flag or the game area to start it, then click once inside so it receives your keys.
  3. Use the arrow keys in the menu to choose Simple, Regular or Expert.
  4. Fly with the arrow keys, hold X to fire and dodge Wally's attacks until he is down.
  5. The creator recommends playing without full screen for the best result.

Tips

  • Parry every pink object with Z. Each parry fills your cards faster, and cards power the V EX move.
  • Shrink with C when the screen fills up; your hitbox gets small enough to fly through gaps.
  • Try Simple first to learn the phases, then move to Regular and Expert.
  • If the controls do not respond, click inside the game once so the page has keyboard focus.

Is this the real Cuphead?
No. It is a free fan game made in Scratch by PizzaGut that recreates one Cuphead boss, Wally Warbles. The full Cuphead by Studio MDHR is a different game.
