About GTA 2

Play GTA 2 free in your browser. No download, no install: it opens on m1stermo.github.io in a new tab.

GTA 2 drops you in Anywhere City, a three-district future town run by rival gangs. Every gang tracks how much it respects you, so working for one makes the others hostile.

This version runs the community's reconstruction of the original code compiled for the web. It adds widescreen, smooth motion on fast screens, a map that fills in as you explore, and a co-op mode where you host a room and send friends the link. The first visit downloads the game once, about 355 MB, and keeps it in the browser.

How to play GTA 2

  1. Press Play. The site opens in a new tab and prepares the game files on the first visit.
  2. Press Play now for the story, or Host or join to make a co-op room and send the link to friends.
  3. Press M for the map and click anywhere on it to set a waypoint. Change keys under Options or the Controls button below the game.

Controls

The site lists full keyboard and controller layouts under Controls and lets you change every binding. In menus and on the map the cross button confirms and circle goes back.

Tips

  • Use Export saves under the game screen before clearing browser data.
  • Gang Wars mode in Play with friends counts toward the site's crew leaderboard.
