Keldurn is a fan-run classic realm built around patch 1.12, the last version before The Burning Crusade: the original classes, talents, quests, dungeons and raids, the level cap at 60 and x1 experience. Alliance and Horde share one persistent PvP realm.

The game runs in your browser tab, not as a video stream, on a Windows PC, Mac, Chromebook, iPhone, iPad or Android phone, with touch controls on mobile. You need a free account, and your characters live on the realm, so you can carry on from another device.

Keldurn says there is no subscription and no game to buy, and it never asks for a Battle.net login. The first entry into the world takes a while as the browser gets the game ready; later visits from the same browser are much quicker. An optional Windows client exists too.

How to play World of Warcraft Classic (Keldurn)

  1. Press Play. Keldurn opens in a new tab.
  2. You need a free account: choose Create a free account and play, then sign up with an email, username and password, or continue with Google or Discord. Already registered players sign in on play.keldurn.com.
  3. Create a character: Alliance or Horde, one of eight races and nine classes.
  4. Wait for the first entry, then set the graphics quality and key bindings in the game options.

These are the classic default bindings; change them in the game's key binding options. On phones and tablets the site lays touch controls over the interface for movement, camera, targets and action bars, played in landscape. A free account is needed before you can play.

Tips

  • Use Chrome, Edge or Opera on a PC, Safari on Mac, iPhone and iPad, and Chrome on Android, with graphics acceleration switched on.
  • Do the first entry on Wi-Fi; later visits load much faster.
  • Lower the graphics quality on phones and older laptops.

Do I need an account?
Yes, a free one. Sign up with an email and password, or with Google or Discord. Keldurn says there is no subscription.
Is this the official WoW Classic?
No. It is a fan-run 1.12 realm, not affiliated with Blizzard, and you don't need a Battle.net account or the original client.
Can I play on my phone?
Keldurn supports iPhone and iPad in Safari and Android in Chrome, with touch controls, in landscape. Its sign-in page loaded in our phone-sized check.
Is there a Warcraft game I can play without an account?
Yes, Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness runs in the browser on dos.games with no sign-up.
