About Hotline Miami

Play Hotline Miami free in your browser. No download, no install, it runs right on this page.

Hotline Miami is a top-down action game by Dennaton Games (Jonatan Söderström and Dennis Wedin), published by Devolver Digital in 2012. In 1989 Miami, an unnamed hitman gets cryptic phone calls, puts on an animal mask and clears buildings of the Russian mob. One hit kills you and one hit kills them, so every floor is a fast loop of planning, dying and restarting, set to a pounding synthwave soundtrack.

This browser version is by mdecombax. Its README describes it as a technical conversion of the original GameMaker 7 game to the modern GameMaker HTML5 runtime, with WebGL graphics and Web Audio sound. It says the title screen, the prologue and chapters 0 to 21 are included, and progress is saved in your browser's local storage.

It is made for a computer with a keyboard and mouse. There are no touch controls, so it is not meant for phones.
